About Us

 ADACA Dance has been around since 2011 and is currently located in Brooklyn, NY. We focus mainly on classical Russian ballet but we offer many other programs such as breakdance, platies, contemporary dance and more. 

We have a minimum of three shows per year; The Nutcracker, a spring gala and a summer performance. We also offer an Intensive Summer Camp, Winter Intensive classes, private classes, training and traveling for competitions
We at ADACA Dance firmly believe in our mission statement that the Academy of Dance and Creative Arts transforms passionate dance students into versatile, individualistic artists able to collaborate and evolve fluidly in a fast-changing society and to inspire a lasting love and appreciation for dance through artistic excellence, exhilarating performances, innovative choreography and superb educational programs.

Teacher Bios

Julia Vorobyeva

won the hearts of all who experienced her delicate, refined performances. Treating audiences to many masterful and memorable roles, Ms. Julia danced the starring role in many ballets including Giselle, Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Macbeth, Spartacus, Romeo and Juliet, Sleeping Beauty and Allegro Brillante, Concerto Barocco, Sylvia Pas De Deux, Who Cares, Raymonda of Balanchine and other beautiful pieces of acclaimed masters. She scored tremendous critical success and the New York Times ballet critic Anna Kisselgoff praised her work in the title role of ballet Esmeralda with NJBallet Co.

Ms. Julia’s career began in Moscow at the world famous Bolshoi Ballet Academy (Degree of Ballet Artist) and the Bolshoi Institute of Choreography (Bachelor degree of Ballet teacher). She toured throughout the world as a principal artist with the Moscow Classical Ballet and Russian State Ballet. She performed at the world famous Bolshoi Theatre, Vienna State Opera and other big stages of the world.  From 1998 she is with NJBallet Co. as a principal dancer.

As a teacher Ms. Julia has been praised for her extraordinary ability to work with today’s young generation of dancers. Her thorough knowledge of the most current teaching methods and styles has produced many dancers who have been accepted into some of the most prestigious dance programs and companies.

In 2010 she founded the Academy of Dance and Creative Arts, Inc and now leads the school as a director and teacher together with her husband Konstantin Dournev. She created International Summer Ballet program for international ballet students and Intensive Summer Ballet Camp for serious kids who would like to be a professional ballet dancers.
​​Konstantin Durnev

began his career in Novosibirsk, Russia at the Novosibirsk Ballet Academy (Degree of Ballet Artist) and the Russian Academy of Theatrical Art in Moscow -GITIS (Bachelor degree of Ballet Teacher and Choreographer). As a principal dancer he toured throughout the world with the Novosibirsk Theatre of Opera and Ballet, with Moscow Classical Ballet and with Russian State Ballet. He also performed on the world famous stages as of the Bolshoi Theatre of Opera and Ballet, of the Mariinsy Theatre, of Vienna State Opera.

In the USA he was a principal ballet dancer of NJ Ballet Co. over 10 years. He captured the attention of critics and audiences with his technique and dramatical dances in Giselle and Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Coppelia, Esmeralda, Romeo and Juliet, Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Spartacus, Macbeth and many others. His repertory includes numerous works of famous world choreographers such as Marius Petipa, George Balanchine, Yury Grigorovich, Vladimir Vasilev and other acclaimed masters.

Mr. Konstantin won silver and bronze medals in international ballet competitions and was a guest star with the Russian Imperial Ballet under the direction of Maya Plisetskaya. From 1998 he started to work with NJBallet Co. as their principal dancer and later he choreographed the one act ballets of Macbeth and Spartacus, was an assistant choreographer for three act ballet Esmeralda and did contemporary pieces Never Ending Story, Creation and others.

He was invited to many ballet schools and companies all over the USA and Russia as ballet teacher and choreographer. Ballets Coppelia, Nutctracker, Swan Lake and many contemporary and classical pieces Mr. Konstantin choreographed especially for each company and school. His professionalism, good personality and energetic energy inspires every student to increase their skills.
​​ Andrey Durnev (Bboy Volky Volk)

with more then ten years of traveling, competing and teaching experience under his belt Andrey, or better known by his bboy name Volky Volk, is our renowned Bboy (Breakdancing) teacher. Volky was taught by Bboy Airmax from Souljerz Crew, NJ and went on to place and win various competitions in the tri-state area. Volky is a firm believer that anyone can dance no matter what age or level you are at. He always brings a positive attitude and energy to every lesson, you can see more of his dancing at:

​​Marina Bogdanova

both ballerina and a dance teacher, Marina Bogdanova is known for the lightness and delicacy of her dancing.
Ms. Bogdanova was born in the city of Perm where she was admitted to the Perm State Academy of Dance. Mrs. Bogdanova began her professional career in the Sverdlovsk State Theater of Opera and Ballet as a prima ballerina.
Marina Bogdanova made her debut at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg as Nikia in La Bayadere. She worked with such legendary prima ballerinas as Yekaterina Maksimova and Yekaterina Chernyshova, who complemented Ms. Bogdanova for her natural talents.
Ms. Bogdanova’s classical ballet repertoire included title roles in Swan Lake, Giselle, Corsair, La Silphide, Coppelia, la Esmeralda, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Walpurgis Nights, Don Quixote, Paquita, La Bayadere, Romeo and Juliet and Carmen.
In 1987 Ms. Bogdanova accepted an honorary title of The National Artist of USSA for exceptional achievements in performing arts and therefore was mentioned in the Big Ballet Encyclopedia of Russia. Ms. Bogdanova graduated from The Moscow Theater of the Performing Arts as a Ballet Mistress, which is an equivalent of MA degree in Choreography.
Ms. Bogdanova's reputation became firmly established with the knowledgeable Russian balletomanes and she was invited to join his Russian Ballet Company and go on international tours. With the V. Gordeyev’s Russian Ballet Company Mrs. Bogranova performed in USA, England, Germany, Taiwan, Japan, Spain, Holland, Switzerland, Norway, Australia and Mexico.
Her leading roles received critical acclaim and appreciation from famous ballet critics such as Anna Kisselgoff from The New York Times. Ms. Bogdanova was also featured in the Pointe, Dance Paper and Dance magazines. While on tours, Marina became an Honored Citizen of Georgia, USA and the Cite de Veracruz, Mexico.
The world touring ended with the invitation to take up residence at the Columbia Classical Ballet and the NJ Ballet Company as a prima ballerina. At the same time Ms. Bogdanova was asked to present master classes at the Philadelphia Dance Conservatory, Ballet Royale of Maryland, Dance Explosion School of Maryland, South Carolina Academy of Ballet, ballet schools of Arizona, Florida and Virginia as well as the Kwangju Ballet Company, Korea.
In 2004 Ms. Marina Bogdanova was officially appointed to the rank of the Ballet Mistress at the New Jersey Ballet.
Since 2013 she works at the Joffrey Ballet school at the Ballet Intensive program.
From 2018 she started to work for the Academy of Dance and Creative Arts and a teacher and choreographer.
